Jeanne Beker is one of the most iconic and influential women in the fashion industry, both here in Canada and around the world. Jeanne is currently host of Bell Media's FashionTelevisionChannel – Canada's first and only 24-hour channel dedicated to fashion, beauty and design.


Host of Canada's leading fashion series FASHION TELEVISION for 27 years, Jeanne is also a contributing editor forThe Toronto Star, a columnist for Metro, a published author of five books (the latest two released in Spring 2011 – Finding Myself in Fashion and Strutting It: The Grit Behind The Glamour) and a regular style correspondent for CANADA AM and ETALK. Jeanne also added a dose of style to the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics with regular fashion segments for CTV and launched an exclusive clothing line titled "Edit by Jeanne Beker" available at The Bay stores across Canada.

Last year, Jeanne travelled to London, England as a CTV Royal expert covering all things fashion as the world tuned in to watch William and Kate tie the knot at the Royal Wedding on April 29, 2011.

Bonnie Brooks is the President of the Hudson’s Bay Company overseeing merchandising, marketing and store operations at The Bay, Canada’s oldest department store, and Lord & Taylor, the oldest department store in the United States. Ms. Brooks brings with her more than three decades of extensive prestige brand, high end retail and department store experience to her role.

Ms. Brooks has spent more than 25 years building prestige retail formats around the world including Holt Renfrew, Lane Crawford, Harvey Nichols, and leading designer brand stand-alone stores in Asia. Most recently, Ms. Brooks was the President of the Lane Crawford Joyce Group based in Hong Kong. In this role, she oversaw all aspects of the company which represents many of the world’s leading brands and more than 500 locations in nine Asian countries including the 158 year old Lane Crawford department stores, Joyce Boutiques, Pedder Group, and the LCJG Distribution Company. Under her leadership, the company saw the expansion of these formats into Greater China and South East Asia. She was based in Hong Kong for eleven years.

In Canada, Ms. Brooks is best known for her roles at Holt Renfrew where she was Executive Vice President/General Merchandise Manager and Senior Vice President of Marketing. In these positions, she was responsible for strategic planning, marketing functions, merchandise buying and designer brand acquisition to name a few. Bonnie also served as Editor-in-Chief of FLARE, Canada’s largest fashion and lifestyle magazine and has an MBA from the University of Western Ontario.

Known as one of the most innovative international retail experts, Ms. Brooks has been recently recognized in a variety of publications including 2010 UK Monocle Magazine’s 25 Top Retailers in the world and Fast Company (New York) Magazine’s 100 Most Creative People in Business for 2010 worldwide.

Since joining the Hudson’s Bay Company, Ms. Brooks has collectively raised more than $17M for charitable organizations, including the Canadian Red Cross, Canadian Olympic Foundation, and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

Ms. Brooks was appointed by the Premier of Ontario to the Royal Ontario Museum Board of Trustees in 2010.

News anchor Anne-Marie Mediwake is the co-host of CBC News Toronto at 5, 5:30 and 6 p.m. weeknights on CBC Television.

In 2011, Anne-Marie was named the GTA's Woman of the Year at the Consumer's Choice Awards, recognizing the trust she has earned from viewers for her commitment to journalistic excellence and her active community involvement.

Mediwake's portfolio includes prominent roles in CBC's local, national and international news coverage; from Jack Layton's state funeral to The Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton from London and their Canadian tour. Recently, Mediwake has brought viewers insightful interviews with former governor general Michaëlle Jean, humanitarian Stephen Lewis, feminist pioneer Gloria Steinem and Bollywood superstar Bipasha Basu.

Prior to joining CBC, Mediwake co-anchored Global Television's Toronto flagship newscast. She helmed CTV's Gemini Award-winning investigative current affairs show 21C and reported for CTV's National News with Lloyd Robertson, Canada AM and Newsnet.

In 2004 Mediwake hosted Sri Lanka A Journey Home, a network news documentary that gave Canadians unprecedented access to the devastation after the Tsunami in her birth country of Sri Lanka including a rare interview with Tamil Tiger second-in-command S.P. Tamilselvan.

In 2007, Mediwake and her husband Darryl Konynenbelt expanded their family with triplets. She chronicled their experiences with pregnancy and birth in the popular and hilarious National Post column called the Triplet Journal.

Mediwake's desire to give a voice and provide mentorship to young women is reflected in her active community outreach. She was nominated for Canada's top 35 under 35.

Mediwake says her natural curiosity and passion for storytelling is rooted in her Scottish-Sri Lankan ancestry.
