ELIGIBILITY
NOMINATION PACKAGE SELECTION PROCESS
A woman who you believe meets the criteria for the category in which you would like to nominate her. The categories are: Arts & Communications, Champions, Corporate Directors, Corporate Executives, Entrepreneurs, Professionals, Public Sector Leaders and Trailblazers & Trendsetters. What Top 100 Award Winners have in common is they are proven achievers who are strong contributors to their organizations, their fields of endeavour and their communities.
No. You may nominate a woman in only one category.
Yes. Individuals who wish to submit a self-nomination may complete the Official Nomination Package. If WXN receives more than three employee Nominations from the same organization, WXN will contact the organization and ask them to withdraw one or more Nominations so three are received. These three Nominations are then brought forward to the Top 100 Advisory Board.
Yes. Employers range in size from over 40,000 employees to one in the case of a self-employed individual.

The Board will receive from WXN a maximum of three Nominations from the same organization, regardless of the Nominator. If WXN receives more than three employee Nominations from the same organization, WXN will contact the organization and ask them to withdraw one or more Nominations so three are received. These three Nominations are then brought forward to the Top 100 Advisory Board. You may nominate any number of individuals outside of your organization.
Yes. An individual may win the Top 100 Award up to three times. If an individual is nominated a fourth time, the Board may choose to award the individual through an induction into Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Hall of Fame.
An individual may win the Award up to three times. If she is nominated a fourth time, the Board may choose to recommend her induction to Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Hall of Fame.
Nominees must be in the role for which they have been nominated as of December 31, 2012.
Nominees are not required to be Canadian citizens or be working in Canada at the present time. This allows women to be honoured for their achievements who happen to be on a global assignment or who are making a significant contribution to their profession in Canada.

The Nominee list remains confidential to protect the privacy of those individuals. The detailed financial information is shared only with the two or three judges in the specific category, the Advisory Board Chair and a two-person secretariat. Each of these individuals has signed a confidentiality agreement in accordance with the Nomination process.
The internal reference letter may be provided by anyone within the organization of the Nominee including a member of the organization’s board of directors. The external reference letter may be provided by anyone outside of the Nominee’s organization. The judges will note who provides the references. Only one internal and one external reference letter will be accepted.
Each year, many individuals who are preparing Nomination Packages dial into one of our three 30-minute teleconferences. Top 100 Advisory Board Chair Pamela Jeffery will provide an overview of the process and answer your questions. The dates are:
No. Any additional material other than what is requested will not be accepted.
Once the Nomination Package has been submitted via email to top100@wxnetwork.com, the person completing the Nomination will need to a) ensure the $295 donation payment is made (see below) and b) hard copies of the Nomination Package are provided to WXN by June 7, 2013 5:00PM EST. Each Nomination requires a $295 donation to the WXN Foundation. The Foundation supports the advancement and empowerment of women. Since the Foundation was founded, over $122,000 in charitable donations have been made to approximately 115 organizations. The Foundation also gives education bursaries creating mentoring, learning and networking opportunities for high-potential women across Canada.
There are two ways to submit the donation directly to WXN: o mailing and/or courier a cheque made out to ‘WXN Foundation’: It is important to indicate on the cheque a) the Nominee name and b) the category in which she is being nominated for our records. Please note that the $295 donation must be made by May 31, 2013 at 5:00PM EST and is required in order for the Nomination to move forward.
The Nominee will receive a confirmation e-mail once the online Top 100 Nomination Package has been submitted.
WXN reviews each Nomination Package to verify that the Nominee meets the selection criteria for the category in which they were nominated. WXN will contact the Nominator if we require any clarification. In selecting the Award Winners, our Advisory Board considers the Nominee’s achievements in the context of the Selection Criteria of the category in which the Nominee has been nominated.
Nominees will be contacted in July 2013 and advised if their Nomination was successful. Nominators will also be contacted in July 2013 and advised if their Nominee has been selected.
The Secretary of the Board contacts all Nominees in July 2013 who are not selected in 2013. The Secretary of the Board will also contact all Nominators to advise if their Nominee has not been selected.
The 2013 Top 100 Award Winners list will be made public in December 2013. |
