The Women’s Executive Network is pleased to announce that Moira Forbes, President and Publisher of ForbesWoman magazine, will be the keynote speaker at the 2012 Top 100 Calgary Awards Gala taking place at The Westin Calgary on International Women’s Day, March 8th, 2012. Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Awards is Canada’s most recognizable distinction for the country's highest achieving female leaders in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors.
In 2008, Ms. Forbes founded ForbesWoman, a multi-media platform dedicated to women in business and leadership. In 2010, she went on to create the Forbes Executive Women’s board, a think-tank of senior-level women across diverse industries focused on advancing women’s leadership. “In learning what’s on the minds of these leaders,” says Ms. Forbes, “we can continue to address those topics most pressing for the much larger community of women they represent.” Ms. Forbes is Forbes Media’s first female publisher in its nearly 100 years of existence.
The afternoon Calgary Top 100 Summit features Top 100 Winners as panelists in Breakout Sessions, which allow participants theopportunity to learn from distinguished Award Winners and enjoy an opportunity for networking and professional development. Following that, the Top 100 Awards Gala is a celebration of the 2011 Award Winners from Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan capped off by an address from Ms. Forbes, which fits perfectlywith the theme of this year’s Top 100, ‘The Power of Connected Leadership'.
